Hello friends! Today we want to share a portion of useful information with business owners and project managers.
We continue to present the products of our company, and we want to talk about another feature of our Microsoft Power BI Connector for Jira plugin. Specifically, we will talk about the built-in report templates of the Connector: resource-dashboard, user-assignment and task-overview from DOIT-BI.
As you probably already know, the task of the Microsoft Power BI Connector for Jira is to upload and presentably visualize data from a project management system called Jira.
Templates are a separate plugin functionality that works as follows: ? you set up the integration, ? get the necessary information from Jira and ?substitute your data into in advance prepared and designed template fields.
Thus, without any extra downloads, tables, text files, you get a set of charts that inform you about:
- the total labor costs of projects;
- how much time was planned, spent or left for the project;
- what workload each specialist has;
- determine points of unproductivity and much much more.
In order to understand the full range of capabilities of the resource-dashboard, user-assignment and task-overview templates from DOIT-BI, we suggest considering the features of each of them separately.
What are resource-dashboard, user-assignment and task-overview report templates

1️⃣ In the RESOURCE-DASHBOARD report template, the resource dashboard allows managers to easily get an overview of how their users are distributed across projects, including:
- the number of tasks they have;
- how much work is overdue;
- total time spent;
- completed and remaining by users;
- how many users are assigned to each project.
On the information panel, we can see that the main focus is on users and their tasks in projects.
We can filter all diagrams by Project, Issues Status and User.

The cards on the left summarized the key data. Here we can see:
- the number of users involved in the work on projects;
- total number of issues;
- the number of issues that have not yet been taken into work (To Do Issues);
- the number of issues that are in progress (In Progress Issues);
- the number of completed issues (Completed Issues);
- time spent, remaining estimate and original estimate.
In the Issues by User pie chart, we can see how many issues are assigned to a particular user.
The Issues by Status donut chart displays the number of Issues by their status.
The Effort Original and Remaining by User chart shows the total remaining time and estimated time by user.
On the User Count by Project chart, we see how many users are working on each project.

2️⃣ The USER ASSIGNMENTS report allows managers to view job details for each employee. Visual charts show the total effort by selected resources and effort by projects.
User Assignment goes one level deeper and shows us the task assignments for all the people in the organization, e.g. we can select one of the team members here and see his/her total amount of efforts on the projects he/she is working on and even expand to see the tasks.
The table shows ✔ time spent, ✔ remaining time, and ✔ original estimated time.
The report has a filter by Project, Issue Status and User.
3️⃣ The TASK OVERVIEW report focuses on detailed project tasks and helps you identify underproductivity in projects with KPIs. Visual elements allow you to perform additional filtering by Project, Issue Status and User.

The task overview report page helps you see the status of detailed work on projects.
The report also focuses on the work of one or more people. This is a great way for a team member to see his/her own efforts, or for project managers to see what their team is working on.
And at the end
In today’s article, we tried to tell you as much as possible about the capabilities of our products. Summing up, we note an important point: DOIT-BI today works with both Jira Server and Jira Cloud. Therefore, no matter what type you use in your work, you can safely work with the resource-dashboard, user-assignment and task-overview templates.
Templates have become a real salvation for project managers who need not only to put things in order within the team, make the project profitable and successful, but also provide a clear and understandable report to the leadership.
In their development, DOIT-BI specialists tried to take into account all the possible situations and create not only a convenient and useful, but also a safe product. The user may not worry that some of the information may be lost or fall into the wrong hands. We have thought of all this in advance and protected it as much as possible.
